Back in Atlanta

So for my dear friends who hoped that I would continue to update once back in Atlanta ... I am trying.  So I am officially on vacation now!  I'm spending my two weeks with my sister while my mom is at home. 

Life is definitely a journey right now that is just being lived one day at a time.  My sister is definitely facing a diffenrent way of life.  I know she feels like she has no control anymore, but I have witnessed that she does!  She may not have control over her body but she has the control to continue to believe that God is in control!!  She has just finished her first set of chemo and next week will begin the second set.  We have heard that the second set is lighter and should be easier on her body .... so we'll just have to wait and see because if I have learned anything, I've learned that every individual is affected differently by the drugs so we'll just have to wait and see.

Also keep my mom and dad in your prayers!  My mom just had her pace maker changed today .... which is a blessing within itself because we've been waiting for the day to come and God provided in all ways for it to be able to happen ..... but be in prayer that she will recover well and take the time to rest!  It took a lot to convince her to leave to take care of herself so now we pray that God will provide her with the time, strength, and patience to properly recover.

I would first like to state that I have posted more this summer than my brother ..... Jeff, it is time to put something new up.  I can only watch the neck agility video so many times. I mean come on, I've written more than you .... hahahahaha .... crackhead.

Anyways, my time in San Angelo is almost up!  It has gone so quick .... I don't know where the time has gone to but in a week and a half, I'll be heading back to Atlanta to spend two weeks with my sister before reporting back to campus.  I have had a great time this summer and everyone here is great .... I am ready to get back and see everyone.  Hmmm, I don't even know what to think about this coming year??  The first went so quickly, that I'm afraid that the second will go even faster and I'll miss it.  It's even a little crazy to think that this time next year I'll be a captain and I'll be stuck where ever I'm appointed for more than just the summer  ..... ahhhhh .... that's a little scary.

So what's been new here .... not much.  Saturday, I had a great day in Midland with Laura!  It's been awesome to have her so close .... God has really madet her to be an amazing women and friend.  I did a devotional for at the shelter on Sunday Morning and SS Prelims. which I must say have gone very well.  Before, I left Texas for training, I was beginning to look at SS Prelims in a different way and this summer has allowed me to put some of those thoughts into practice ... so that's been great.  Um, Monday it was back to camp with 5 of my favorite kids!  I'm glad that everything was worked out for them to go but I'll admit I missed them yesterday at VBS.  My day was a little incomplete without them, but I know they're having a great time.  Oh on Monday, I also got to have dinner with Abby and little Andy .... it was great just being able to sit and talk.  Yesterday was a full day of kid activities but it went really well .... oh and we went bowling and let me tell you I kicked a little butt .... on the last game I scored a 174 ... I had 6 strikes .... it was awesome.

Anyways, just trying to finish assignments and get everything else done before I leave next week.  As like many of my fellow "workers" .... I'm trying to finish up those last intensive papers that are do next friday!!!

Well I gotta get back to answering phones but hopefully I'll get one more post in before I leave on the 30th!
